The g1 was not made to allow you to use the g1 as a usb modem, this is not somthing that can be done with the g1 as of yet. It is also part of t-mobile ts&cs (in the uk) that you r not to use the handset as a Wireless Access point. There may be in the months to come a app on the market to allow your g1 to be used as a usb modem only, but be aware that to use the g1 as a usb modem, you will need a data plan, this is with t-mobile only (normally set up already as part of your contract),
