Modem driver for Dell vostro A840 for ubuntu

Hello,
i need a modem drive for dell vostro A840(for ubuntu)to set up dial up connection. i have configured pyWvdial and installed scanmodem but the modem is not detected..please help

Can you tell me what operating system are you using for this modem ?

I am using ubuntu 9.10 nd i have installed it inside windows vista.
