Compatibility issues

Hello,
i am having a compatability issue with the sims 2 game and a direct x 9.0c graphics card adapter please help me and tell me how to fix it cause i really want to play the sims 2 game and i also have windows 7 ultimate and it just all of a sudden started saying this crap before when i had windows xp proffessional it didnt do nothing like this so please help thanks and bye.
