cd/dvd rw stop reading Solved/Closed

Hello,
 i have a toshiba equium a200 1vo and recently i switched to windows 7 from vista. everything went smooth but  few days after a one time small noise my cd/dvd rw stopped reading. i would like to know if there is a solution or a reason for that. or the only way is to replace? i would not like to do that most certainly. appreciate your help. regards.rebecca

hi there,

normally noise is caused by mechanic

and if the noise is frequent then you 

have no choice except if you open and check if you can fix it

else you need to replace the drive
