Not hearing sound

Hello,
i've window xp , the mercury mainboard .i just format my pc. my mainboard cd not working so i download sound driver from mercury site after matching mainboard number .
when i install driver error occurs that
" installing this device driver is not recommended bcz windows cannot verify that it is compatible with your
harward. if the driver is not compatible, your hardware will not work correctly and your might become \
unstable or stop woring completely

That's a standard message from Microsoft. It just means Mercury did not pay Microsoft to certify the drivers.
I would continue with the installation.
