Downgrade vista to XP

Hello,
I have bought MSI VR420 about three month ago with pre installed vista home edit os. I also had a desk top with op on XP PRO for years. I want it downgrade my new laptop so it would be compatable with my desk top.
I have read some forum suggested that I must disabling SATA in BIOS, reformat my C, and install my XP, and make sure to have all XP driver ready for additional.
What other easy way to downgrade this unwanted os?
