Format problems

hi...i have a Sony Vaio with windows 7 and i want to put windows xp i try to format it but when i press enter to make format it says *sorry but you cant format the disk because your disc cant be recognize* i don't know what to do... i try to format from the cmd but it says *you don't have the appropriate permission to do that* something like this please help

Hi there,

You are having this as you have sata hard disk on the device ,to install xp you need to disable sata/native mode in bios setting,then save and exit and reboot from xp installation cd to proceed with downgrade and make it successful.
