Need to install new operating system

Hello, I need to kill my windows vista system and install a new copy of windows XP how is this done ?Do I have to F disk this , then What?

Most new laptops have an advanced SATA hard drive controller that is not on the Windows XP CDROM. You may need to Google the terms "slipstream" and "nlite" to find information on modifying the XP CD. Without that modification the Windows XP installer can't find the hard disk and the install will fail.
