DVD/CD player no longer functioning

Hello,
Please help. My DVD/CD driver has stopped function. I check and it says the the device is functioning properly. However when I try to insert something it does nothing. I have lost use of my printer and can't even redown load the printer software or anything else. Please help. Thanks in advance.

Having the same problem. I have the xps 410, photo 926 printer and my cd/dvd drive is hl-dt-st, model gsa-h31n. Takes the cd in and blinks a few times and that's it. The printer is not being recognized for whatever reason. Hope we can both get some help on this prob.
