shalis, hi
What operating system are you running?
I had the problem that you had year or so back and I tried new keyboards, engineers to look at it and it couldn't be fixed.
Well it can.
Can you get into BIOS to see if the keyboard is enabled?
No of course you can't because keyboard doesn't work
I was running XP Pro SP3 on a PC. I had an error code show on screem, can't remember what it was, but I'll find out soon via Google and leyt you know
The problem I was having was this:- the registry had gone a wee bit funny and all that was needed to fix the problem was a wee registry fix for the keyboard.
I'll find it for you and post back here in a minute or two

Right, I'm back and I have the fix for this on my computer in storage. It is called kb_code39 fix and its less than 2kb in size. I used it on Win XP Pro SP3 and it fixed the problem in less than the time it took to instal and reboot.
I can't find the actual download site for it now but you could read this long way about getting it fixed here:
http://www.siliconguide.com/qa/question/320/
read the part from Bas13

or here;
http://blog.ryantadams.com/...
This was the file that I downloaded to fix my computer but when clicking the part where it says in "Automatic fix: 1/ "Download this file to your desktop" there isn't a file to download now, there is a page with "Windows Registry Editor Version 5" and a lot of HKEY/LOCAL MACHINE/SYSTEM/ControlSet" entries which were probably the machine language instructions that were carried out in the wee file that I have.

I'll continue to look in google. Strange thing is that error code 39 is also connected to cd/dvd drive drivers.

I could email you the file I have..............perhaps and if you're running XP

edit: Windows error codes
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/310123/error-codes-in-device-manager-in-windows

edit 2: can you get into Safe Mode or even into an open desktop situation and using the onscreen keyboard and mouse, open a command prompt window and type into it, without the quotation marks " chkdsk c:/f " and hit/click 'Enter'..........reboot if needs be to set the check disk in action.
Tried a System Restore yet?
good luck
