Sharing printer on network between Ubun & Win
Closed
I am trying to use a printer connected to a Windows 2000 computer from a
computer using Ubuntu 9.1 on the same network. When I select Network
servers, Windows Network, Mshome(this is the name of my home network),
I receive a box saying UNABLE TO MOUNT LOCATION: Failed to retrieve
sharelist from server. I am new at Ubuntu and have no idea how to go
about sharing the Pinter.

This is actually a network issue. Samba is the service Linux uses to interact with Windows networks. Check out this excellent thread for more info;

Alternatively, if your printer has a network card make it a network client, then you don't have to worry about any sharing issues and Ubuntu will find it no problems.
