who did you recieve file from? was it expected?
what was the file created with - any ideas?
does it have a file extension ie ???.XXX. what are the letters/numbers after the dot.
first of all, best practice, NEVER EVER EVER open a file that is attached to an email. even if you think it is from some one you know. you should always save the file, do a virus scan and then look at how to open / read it.
