My start menu is missing folders

Hello,

My computer had a virus and now the virus is gone beacause I used a free avg virus protector and now i dont have my start menu how do i get it back??? Plese help me i lost alot of programs and i really need some help?? vEry concerned computer girl,

create a new user - that should get your desktop re-created.
