Hello,

My Cr drive is not able to read. It started with it not being able to read ReWritable Cds. When I place a ReWritable Cd into the drive it can not see it. However, if I place it in another computer that it is able to read the cd.

Due to the inability to read the ReWritable cds, I formatted the harddrive, hoping to reinstall the OS.
However, after formatting the system, I still cannot read anycd on my system. I currently don't know what to do. Whether I should use another cd drive to make the installation or buy a new cd drive.

My drive is a CD ReWriter (LG)
My system is Dell Dimensions(Celeron)

I had two(2) hard drives on the system(master and slave) and had three(3) OS on it:
1. Win 98
2. Win XP
3. Win XP

I divided the second(2nd) hard drive into six(6) drives. It was a 40GB. I have Win 98 and one of the XPs on the 40 GB drive and the other (20GB) has a Win XP.

I do have a lot of other files on the other Hard drives:
Music,
Pictures
website pages
movies
other softwares(Application and system)

Nb/ The third(2nd) Win XP was added when I thought that the fault was from the OS.

I really am in a fix and don't know what to do.
I really like that system.(its old but I have memories in it)

Hope someone out there can help me!!!

Buy another CD drive. Sounds like you've wasted enough time already with the current drive.
