Svideo cable not working

Ok, so I've been using my svideo cable for sometime now with no problems. Then the other day it just stopped working. I press fn and f4 and nothing happens. I even got a new cord and it still does nothing. I also tried another tv so I assume something is wrong with my laptop. Any ideas?
