Hello.

I have Windows xp, and my ISP is virgin media. Today when I opened internet explorer it said it couldn't display my home page. I tried going to different websites but none of them would load. I tried safari aswell and it couldn't connect either. Internet explorer said it was due to my firewall settings, but I even turned my firewall off and it didn't make a difference. Safari said there was a problem communicating with the web proxy server (http). I know the problem isn't my internet connection, I defiantly do connect as all the programs that use the web like msn still work (not itunes though).

Anyone have any idea what the problem could be or have any suggestions? They would be much appreciated!

Thanks, Hailey x

change the dns. Right click on ur connection>> properties>> choose internet protocol tcp/ip click properties>> choose 'use the following dns' :

preffered : 156.154.70.1

alternate : 156.154.71.1

Yes, think it's due to DNS resolving problem too, you can also try to configure following free DNS provided by OpenDNS and test again.

208.67.222.222
208.67.220.220
