Ie6 problem

hi my boss is using a ibm thinkpad 61i laptop with xp sp2. the problem is whenever he double clicks on the ie6 icon on the desktop it creates a shortcut. but ie opens from the icon on the taskbar and everywhere else except the desktop icon.upon right clicking there's no option of open and the 1st option is 'create shortcut'. except for formatting i'v tried everything else like repairing,scanning etc. i installed ie7 and it works but it slows down his system. anybody can help plz do.........

fix.reg

not forget to put the reg extension

then double click the saved file and click on yes

if the problem still exists restart your pc and check out

There is also another option which may help and that is upgrading to IE8.
