Making an in home network

Hello,

I currently have an iBook G4 and an AirCard 595U (Sprint) for my internet. Is there any way to use my laptop (iBook G4 & AirCard 595U) for a firmware update to my BluRay players (ethernet output) as well as use my Xbox 360 Live? I know I'll need a router but which one will work? With all of this in mind would it just be more effective installing high speed internet throughout my home
