Modern warfare2 wont work on multiplayer help

Does any1 know whats up with my xbox 360 whenever i play modern warfare 2 it works on special ops and campaign but it wont work on multiplayer my old disk had to cracks in it so i got a brand new one and it worked on multiplayer for 10 minutes then my friend invited me to play special ops nd i cudnt do multiplayer anymore thanks

It could be coming from simple server problems and hence I will advise you to have it refreshed to see whether the problem gets solved.
