ITunes install

Hello,
Everytime I try and install iTunes 9 and I can't get it to work. When the installer comes up I get an error message saying that internet explorer has stopped working. I've tried it a bunch of times, restarting my computer, the normal basic stuff and I've had no luck. Please help.
