Accidentaly Formated my WD 500GB HD,

Hello,
OK here is my problem that I have come across with my WD External HD 500GB, I was reformating my as I had a virus to reinstall XP. I believe when I was reinstalling windows xp, I believe I had my HD hooked up, an I think I formated it. It now brings up the setups stuff on the HD but only says 645MB all used space, anyone know how to fix it or what to do to fix it, so I can have my 500GB HD back? any help would be greatly appreciated.

You might try Killdisk to reinitialize the disk.

https://www.killdisk.com/eraser.html

and then reinstall Windows

Hello,

We recently had an employee leave our company. Her files are backed-up on a WD my book essential external hard drive. The program to restore is password protectected and we have no way of getting that information. is there any way to reset the password?

My hard drive isn't spinning, and I was hoping someone could tell me how to get the data off of it. I've considered taking it apart to see if it still works, but I've never done anything like that before. If anyone has any videos or software I could use, that would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone would be able to let me know how I might be able to extract the information from this drive. I can hear the disc is not turning anymore so I thought about taking it apart and see if I can get it to spin but I have never done that with a heart this before. If anyone knows any videos or software I might be able to use I would greatly appreciate the help. My entire family’s many years of photos and videos are on here. Thank you

Hello,
I have a big problem with my hard drive right now which contains a lot of important things. Yesterday, it was working fine but when I plugged in it in my desktop, the sound of the plugging in can be heard and it appears on my devices but autoplay doesn't open and I can't find it in My Computer. I already tried uninstalling it, restarting desktop, and re installing it but nothing happened. What should I do? Please help me!

Configuration: Windows XP / Chrome 41.0.2272.101
