Internet not working for IE8 on Windows 7

Hello,
I can connect to the internet using firefox but when i click on Internet Explorer 8 for windows 7 it cannot display the webpage. This is really irritating becuase i can clearly get onto the internet on my other web browser Firefox. Please can someone help me?

Hello,
Try this 1.
Right click on the "Internet Explorer" icon---->Click on "Properties"---> Click on
"Connections" tab-->Click on LAN settings button. In that window uncheck all the
options, if you notice any option selected.
Now try opening any website in "Internet Explorer".
If the problem still exists, try resetting your "Internet Explorer.
Right-click on "Internet Explorer" icon ---> Properties ---> Click on "Advanced" tab
---> Click on "Reset" button.
