Iphone Apple icon for while,(rain) Closed

Hello,  
I was wondering if anyone out there could help me with an iPhone 3 issue. 
My iPhone was working just fine, until i left it out in the rain.  
I brought it in, and dried it, and it is now on charge.  
But, the only problem is, when i plugged in the charger, the iPhone switched on, but only shows an Apple icon, for a little while, and then switches back off. The charger is secure, and i don't really know what else could be wrong with it. any help?

Hello ShabbyT,

You left the phone in the rain,were you aware of it being damaged?If not then you dried only external part that is on the housing?right?and did you think about internal damages?if not then do not waste more time have it checked by a qualified personnel so that it not to be left in the waste bin.
