Hello,

I am having the problem of installing XP over windows 7 on a HP Pavillion dm4-1009tu laptop with 4GB single Ram. After loading the files there comes the blue screen. There is no option for changing the SATA to IDE in the BIOS. Please help.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

You are having this blue screen since you have sata hard drive and for installation of xp on a sata hard drive here are the steps to be done on these Faqs:

Or try this one:

Good luck

Hello,
Your final solution is very interesting, I admit that I use it myself, but you should remember when you install Windows XP is that you can only use3Gb of Ram even if you have more, So I think the last solution of Pcsces be most relevant to you!
