Hello,

Please Help, I have DELL GX270 running winXP with 2 x DVD on slave IDE
and 2 x IDE HD on the master IDE cable.

Now I have connected 1 x SATA HD and when I boot the PC it goes always to
boot from the SATA HD (which has win7). it is impossibleto change on the BIOS to
boot from IDE cause the SATA got C: letter.
if I press F12 I can boot from IDE but only one time till next auto boot....

The SATA is 640GB and I need it as a storage HD and not the system.

How to make it works?

Thanks.

Change the pin settings on the sata drive from master to slave you will need to look it up for that particular drive cause the pin settings are different on every driver but it would force it to slave if you did that

thank you! but I have been told that on SATA drives there is no option to define Master/slave..

Hello,
Try this 1
Go to BIOS --> Now set your "IDE Drive" as first boot device --> Save the settings and exit from BIOS.
Good Luck
