Cd/dvd drive not getting detected

Hello,
my cd/dvd drive is nt shown in "my computer". but it is listed in device manager 'n i hv an error "22".when i put the cd in the drive the lights turn on n the cd rotates inside the drive ,thn nothing happens......plz help.

i do not have any recovery cds or anything of that sort to reinstall the cd drive

my system specifications:
OS: VISTA HOME PREMIUM
MODEL:TOSHIBA SATELITE P SERIES


PLZ HELP......

ur cable may be having a fault.or change the jumper setting of the drive

Hi,
this is an inbuilt drive...i do not know how to go about it.is there any other option?

Hello,

Try this 1

Click on Start --> In search box, type regedt32 and press "Enter"

Registry editor will be opened.

Backup your registry by going to File --> Export and save the file with any name.

Now on the left side, navigate to the location

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE --> SYSTEM --> CurrentControlSet --> Control

----> Class ---> Click on {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

At right side delete these files if u find it

upper filters,lower filters,upper filters.bak,lower filters.bak and then restart your

PC.
