Hello,

hello frnz.....
my frnds pc has a problem he just install fresh copy of win xp nd when he reboots it twice or thrice the windows show an error msg that

Windows\system32\wbem\repository\fs\object.data is missing from this comp or plce on anothe place

and system also running very heavy s any one can help me regard this
thnx in advance

Avirk,

The Windows\system32\wbem\repository\fs\object.data file is corrupted.

1. Tell your friend to boot into safe mode.

2. Click on start and then run

3. Type chkdsk and click ok

The above may repair the file in question

One mmore thin i forgot to ask that sometime when he reboot the windows does no recognize the boot devices and gives the message to insert the right boot media but when he try it continue on/off then it turns on in normal way............so i think its the problem of motherboard that should be changed now or he sould have to repair it????

I think that the motherboard should looked at last for it's best to solve the initial problem first.

Let me know when the check disk is performed.

We just may just have to rebuild the Windows\system32\wbem\repository\fs\object.data folder.

Has your friend recently had problems with his antivirus application? Which one is he using?

its nt booting in safe mode at all i tried my best bt it always hang in this sprocess..............so there is any other alter way to solve it...........

no it doesn't show any error in normal mode..........no he has not any problem with his eset smart security and i did a clean install with my disc the error has been gone but the pc hangs up after sometime or very soon sometime.

Try defragmenting the disk it should reduce the hanging.
