Connecting two computers

Hello,




i need to connect two computers using ethernet connection
read on here how to do except one problem
if use crossover cable
to connect where would the connection go
that comes from router as this is ethernet also
and most computers only have one ethernet jack
and cant connect two cables to same jack plug ie female
so one computer would have a connection going in no problem but first computer
would need to have have one cable from router and a second cable to second pc
any help would be great
