Problem wit my keypad

Hello, I have an lenovo 3000 N100 laptop and i get numbers instead of characters and characters instead of numbers on some of the keys. when i pressed the mentioned keys i mean by pressing w i get 222 on the u 44 on the I 888 and so on. I have tried unlocking the FN key using the suggested key combination on this forum but with no use.... can anyone know what else I can try?plz plz do help me kindly above said problem..........
