Hello,
I have two sheet.. one is the master sheet containg the stock and the second sheet containing the sales invouice for a particular month. What i need is count the same number of article(item) sold in tat month and returned to a new correspondent cell which is in the master sheet.

suppose
0881..in the 1st sheet..

2nd sheet contains all the invoice for the month of dec08 day wise.

i need to find the tottal number of 0881 sold in that month and the value shud be returnd to the mastersheet.

Hi Sharaf,

For example If 0881 data is in A1 (first row and first column) Sheet1 and the invoice data is in sheet2

then type the formula =COUNTIF(Sheet2!A1:A13,Sheet1!A1) next to 0881 number in sheet1, which is masterfile, you should get the count there.
