Is this internal or external HDD? Do you hear the hardware detection sound that Windows makes whenever new hardware is detected? Do you even feel your hard drive spinning up whenever power is connected to it?
Right-click on My Computer, click Manage, select Disk Management on right. Do you see your 750GB HDD? Try burning some sort of recovery media (UBCD) and booting up from it and trying to detect your hard drive. You might need to reformat it to either FAT32 or NTFS.
