I have the same problem .. I used to have itunes 7.0 installed on my pc.. but I need to reformat my pc.. and now i downloaded the latest itunes.. im having problems getting it installed.. getting the same problem.. then I installed the ver. 7.0 itunes and able to install on my pc.. but when i plug my ipod nano 3rd gen it says that it requires itunes 7.6 or higher version.. GRrrr.... can anyone advise me wt to do.. Im about to lose all my hair troubleshooting this problem. btw im using xp home

Its recommended that you install version 7.7 , its a bit more stable.
