My microphone is not working

I am using HP Pavillion Dv 6700.I recently upgraded the windows vista on it to window 7 professional and i updated my sound driver to the latest realtek audio driver version 6.0.1.6710, Diretrix version 11.0, Audio codec ALC 268. I plugged it the headphone jacket.The Speaker is working fine but the microphone is not working.I try it on skype .The same respond that i should check my microphone configuration.Pls i need your help.Thanks

Hi,

Open run typing devmgmt.msc to access device management. Do you see any yellow triangle?If so then please mention for what?

Thanks for the concern.I opened the device manager, but i could not find any yellow triangle.Do you meant that may be the sound drivers is missing? All my device drivers are completely up to date.I told you that the speakers is working.Its only the microphone that is not working.
