Hello, Twentytwee,
First, empty the Google Chrome Browser Cache. It is used to store web pages and other downloaded content (what helps in faster display of web pages when you will visit again those websites). Over time, you can have a huge collection of files taking up much space on the hard drive. However, a lot of them may be unnecessary because you will never return to those sites and others may be corrupted (the link, for example, can be damaged what seems to be your case).
--> How to clear Google Chrome Browser cache ?
1) Click on the Chrome menu icon towards the right end, besides the address bar.
2) Navigate to Tools -> "Clear browsing data".
3) A window will appear on your screen with the browsing data.
4) Select the option(s) you wish to delete and uncheck the others.
In order to clear cache completely, select "beginning of time" from the drop down.
5) When done, click on "Clear browsing data".
After this manipulation, verify if your problem is resolved or not and tell me it.
Even if all seems correct, we shall have to do a fast diagnosis to see if your laptop, and especially yours browsers are not infected.
Best regards. Bridget.
