SKYPE, plugged in PC Camera. My picture is being received but recipient cannot hear me.
I did Skype Test but it failed as it did not record my voice, no sound on playback.
On computer, I looked in Control Panel and looked Up Sounds and Audio Devices but was not allowed to check the box to display the Volume Control Icon on my taskbar. The message stated that "I needed to install a Volume Control Program". Would this be the
problem with having no voice/sound on the Skype. My computer is Windows XP 2002

Have you got speakers/headphones?
Can you play music from your computer and hear it?
Do you have a microphone?

Thank u for Replying
Speakers are in the computer. No external speakers
Yes I can play music
There is supposed to be a microphone in the PC Camera that I plug in for Skype.
Other than that I don't have any separate microphone.

go to start > right click computer and click manage
go to device manager and see if you've got a microphone device in there.
it may possibly have a yellow triangle next to it.
you may need to install the drivers - did you get a disc?
confirm 100% that it has a built in microphone.
