Which software did you use to burn the CD or DVD?

And what format did you burn it? Is it music or something else?

What you have burnt, what format was it?

When you insert and view the disk, can you see any files on it? What format are they?

When you used Shampoo did you select the type of disk you wished to burn?

When you used Shampoo did you select the correct type of disk you wished to burn or create?

Have you used a CD or DVD Disk?

I don't see any files. But I select the correct disk. What I discovered is I change DVD-Rom I install LG DVD-rom it doesn't find. There is no any icon on the screen. But it popup a message that new hardware found. But when I return Samsung DVD-rom the icon shows on screen.

Thanks.

What is the make and model of your computer?

Are you using an external Samsung Writer? Is this a recent installation?

What do you mean by "LG DVD-rom" is that a disk?

How did you check for files on the disk?

Gigabyte! So it was not made by a known manufacturer.

That complicates things and must not mix hardware which were not originally installed when you purchased it.

Don't forget that Microsoft has ceased so support Windows XP and drivers will get most difficult to get.

To make the issue clear, I strongly suggest that you update your Samsung's writer driver and, for the time being, you not use that LG unless you get guidance to install it.

What is the model of the Samsung writer? Did it write and read before?

If you do not answer all of my questions, we could be here till Kingdom come. I did ask you how you verified on the disk if there were any files.

Okay good. So you're capable of burning CDs and DVDs. I'm glad we established that.

when you put in a blank CD and go to My Computer and double click on the disc icon what happens?
