Flash drive recovery

Hello,



<My flash drive just stopped working. I am not able to see the directory my windows computer see the drive but states the device is not ready and will not go to it to obtain the directory. i get the message please insert a disk int removable disk and then in () is the drive letter.

how can I retrieve the files without spending an arm an leg to do so.

I tried the CMD prompt procedure given in another thread but the computer would not go the drive it state device not ready.

Hello,

Try this 1

Assign a different drive letter and check if you are able to open the pen drive.

Click on Start --> In search box, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter.

"Disk Management" window will be opened.

Then right-click on your pen drive --> Select "Change Drive Letter and

Path.." --> Click on "Change" and assign different drive letter.

Change the volume name by right-clicking on your pen drive and select

properties. Enter your volume name.
