These are common problems. It sounds as thought the Ps/2 keyboard has given plenty of years of work, and things do break. Try to clean it with compressed air, while the machine is off.
If that does not help, then acquire a new one as it ia physical problem (broke), and no amount of tech jargon will fix it.
