I have a Toshiba Satellite A215-S7428 laptop. It will run for about an hour and just shut down. I have clean the heat-sink, put on the T-jel, put it back together (making sure that all connector are connected, etc....). It runs a little longer now, but still sooner or later it shuts down. Also! To add insult to injury! The touch pad and left/right clicker buttons stop working.
Is this the CPU causing this? Or is it something else!

Check out the motherboard and other power cables as well as memory cables and see if they are loosen or damaged. Apply proper techniques to tighten them and replace any old or bad cable.

Besides that, I'm also suspecting that motherboard of the computer might be damaged and needs replacement. If the first method didn't work, consider opting the second one.

Last resort, take your computer to any near computer repair shop and see if they have anything extra to suggest and can fix them as well.

Good luck!!
