Dell Inspiron 15R


Problem occurs on start up. Goes to black screen almost immediately accompianied by "pong" sounding pips coming from seemingly the speakers. Can and did start up in safe mode to restore. no restore points were available. Only way to get into safe mode was to power down, take out battery and wait, in order to allow any charge to dissipate. Then, what was necessary was to first hold down shift and F8...then press the power switch. Then select F12 to get to options to restore. Problem is even after all that and a "successful restore" the pip and black screen persist and can not get into full regular screen will apps. Also upon shutting down, have to disengage power completely again (including taking out battery), wait at least 15min, then do the shift+F8 again. Machine is an i7 with 8G and 1T hard drive running windows 8.1.

You have a hardware issue that only Dell can fix. I suggest you call them.
