Recovering from flash drive

Last summer I had computer problems, so sent it into Asurion for repair. I downloaded all my files to a flash drive beforehand, but now my flash drive won't open. I have some very important documents on this flash drive. What do I do to retrieve them?

Hello,
can you explain that "wont open" means what it shows any error messages or the computer didnt recognize the flash drive?

By won't open I mean that the computer doesn't recognize the flash drive.
