Problem turning on ipod5

Hello, I need help trying to fix my ipod5. I was wondering if anyone could help me fix it. My ipod5 won't turn on or charge or wont turn on with the apple lego while pushing the power and home button at the same time. I tried to fix it a lot. I plugged it into the laptop but the won't help either. I was listening to music so that maybe the music could help my go to sleep but the it randomly just turn off by itself and I've had this ipod for a while. it hasn't been damaged so how can I fix this problem?

Perhaps a local repair shop can fix it. Otherwise, I suggest you buy a new one.
