Cd won't work

I have a toshiba laptop and I'm trying to install the sims from a cd but my laptop is saying that there is an error. The cd is my friends and she has a Toshiba laptop too and it worked on hers. Please someone help me.

Possibly your Drive's reading Head is either damaged or needs cleaning.
