Please Someone Help Me Im really fustrated!

Hello,

I have a modem of a connection of I believe 1.5 mb and I have two lapops one has Windows Vista and Windows XP with service pack 2 the problem is that I try to connect to the internet with the laptop that has Xp and I can't but, it show that it is connected to the network and that is running 100.0 mbps and when I open th internet explorer it show that it is disconneted or i have aconnection problem . But, the one with the Windows Vista i can connect to the internet.
Please Someone Help Me Im really fustrated!!!

try to repair the connection.
or you can check the settings by going to the control panel.

I did but i doesn't help my friend told me it might be the ip but i dont know
