I have a spreadsheet with various tabs including data which has been dumped in from various sources. Data includes: worked hours by department, and productive statistics corresponding to that respective department. I'm trying to create a template with minimal upkeep. Is there a way to set up the productivity sheet listing the departments and enter a formula that "searches" the worked hours tab and finds, for example, "finance" and returns the hours value associated with that?

You might want to take a look at the VLOOKUP formula.
