Hello,

My laptop is asus and recently i can't able to read/write any of the cd-dvd disk in my laptop. I didn't use the drive for some months, so i don't know from when it didn't get work. My cd-drive get detected in disk management, device manager and my computer but when i insert any cd it show it has no data in it , but the data's are inside on the cd and it reads on another laptop.

In device manager it shows as below:

When i click on update drive it shows the drivers are already up to date.

May be it is software issue rather than hardware?

Please help me friends...

Regards

most likely it's a hardware problem.

Ya i think so but if it is hardware it even get detected in BIOS and device manager?
But the icon for cd-rom in device manager looks suspicious...
