you need to format it.
try these:
go to Start >> Control Panel >> Administrative Tools >> Computer Management. Open up the Storage entry (click the + sign to unfold it) and choose Disk Management. It's possible the disk will show up in the box at the lower right. If so, right-click to repartion/reformat.
