Hello,
my computer soes not show the CD Rum icon in "my computer" or any where else. A CD or DVD inserted does not come forward; ie., it is not read by the computer. What can the problem be? How can a CD Rum disapear just like that? Please help if you have some experience or knowledge.

Maybe it has been disabled, check in your control panel and then device manager, select the CD or DVD rom and check it's properties...

Thanks Rossdavid, but the advice did not work. I still cannot see the CD ROM. The computer does not read any CD/DVD inserted. I even changed the hardware with no positive result.
Any other advice?
