Date issue

if my year is only 1991 and i am trying to input the date by default 01-01-1991 in excel how?
Am just doing manually 1-1-1991 and the system automatic format 01-01-1991. because of there so many dates are . but it takes more time so can you help me or suggest me for this issue .

You can format text with:

=Text(A1,"DD-MM-YYYY")

If the system already changes from 1 to 01, then how is that more time? You don't have to enter the 01, you can still enter 1.
