I hope this helps:
Removing a folder
1. Touch and hold on the folder on the Home screen that you wish to delete.
2. Drag it into the Remove icon at the top of the screen.
3. Lift your finger.
Note: the folder must be on the Home screen first. Dragging it to the rubbish bin from the Apps menu won't work.
